Ballistic Glass and Armor Solutions, a leading manufacturer of ballistic and protective glass and glazing, is pleased to announce that they have tested and passed the new ASTM F3561 protocol that was created to advance security glazing in the school and institutional setting.
The National Glass Association spearheaded the creation of this test method and provided clear direction for the proper security glazing to be used in the educational space.
“We are thrilled that we have achieved this milestone,” said Ballistic Glass and Armor Solutions CEO Ron Parker. “As a company solely focused on protective glass, we knew we had to lead the way to get our products tested thoroughly through the new standard and we are looking forward to being able to give school districts, as well as students and parents, that extra sense of security and peace of mind.”
Ballistic Glass and Armor Solutions tested their SchoolSafe Standard™ products and it cleared the eight levels of this eight-level test performed by the leading test lab in North America- Intertek. SchoolSafe Standard™ is 3/8” thick and is an excellent deterrent against unwanted (forced) entry into a building. It is available in clear and low-iron options and seamlessly fits all typical framing options.
Ballistic Glass and Armor Solutions also offers their SchoolSafe Premium™ which has the same basic properties as the Standard product but has been hardened to achieve a bullet resistance performance of UL 752 Level 1. The SchoolSafe Premium™ line is 9/16” thick and is also available in clear and low-iron.
Ballistic Glass and Armor Solutions also is a leader in the manufacturing of Ballistic All Glass Entrances with their SecureLite Door line as well as a complete line of traditional bullet resistant products. In addition, Ballistic Glass and Armor also has the unique movable partition systems as well offering the end user a very functional way to stay efficient and safe.
