Jessy SearsEmergency Manager and Interim Security Director Idaho State University

Ms. Sears graduated Summa Cum Laude in Criminal Justice from Grantham University. Jessy spent eight years working for the Transportation Security Administration as Supervisor and trainer. Later taking a position in the Emergency Preparedness Program as the Planner for Southeastern Idaho Public Health. In this role, she also served as the Planning Section Chief throughout the COVID-19 response. There she oversaw the COVID-19 public health emergency contingency planning as well as the planning for vaccination deployment in most of Southeast Idaho.

Jessy moved to Idaho State University as the Emergency Manager responsible for all aspects of multi-hazard emergency planning and response for their three campuses. Seven weeks into her tenure she was named Interim Public Safety Director while maintaining responsibility as the Emergency Manager for the university. In this role she oversees the team responsible for the safety and security of the campus community including the University’s security systems, patrol, dispatch, emergency management, parking and transportation.
