Jim has over 25 years of law enforcement, higher education, fire and emergency services experience, most recently as the Chief and Interim Director of the Department of Campus Public Safety for Central Oregon Community College. Managing an award winning department, Jim nurtured the excellence of his team to create a well-regarded department that sets the standard in campus public safety.
With experience managing crime prevention, community policing, crime analysis and serving as a public information officer, Jim was able to fine tune his delivery of messages and become a popular presenter on prevention and public information. While not appearing to be a "traitor", by dabbling in the fire department side of the equation, he has coordinated the development of a fire agency's emergency operations center and public information functions. He has been a board member of various law enforcement associations and is the immediate past president of the Western Association of Campus of the Western Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators and is currently the Executive Director of the Oregon College and University Public Safety Administrators Association.
